Palm Cove

Palm Cove is home to the Cairns Surf Lifesaving Club with a lifesaver patrolling the beach 7 days per week. For adventure in the tropics there’s fishing charters, four-wheel bike adventures, jet-skis and horse riding trails.

Clifton Beach

A quiet peaceful beach suburb, neighboring town to Palm Cove. Clifton Beach is only 2km south and is host to Clifton Village Shopping Centre where you have the convenience of Coles Supermarket, Bakery, News Agents, Hair Salon, Chemist, Doctors, Dentist, Fresh Seafood, Post Office, Gift Shop, Tour Operator, Petrol Station, and Fishing Supplies.

Machans Beach

Perfect beach location if you desire holiday accommodation close to Cairns. Escape back to the tranquility of this sleepy surburb at the end of the day. Less than 10km to the city allows you access to wine, dine, or rage at the many nightclubs or Casino and won't cost you an arm or a leg to get home. Beach not suitable for swimming, but stroll down to the Barron River inlet for a picturesque afternoon of fishing, cricket, or football.

Trinity Beach

Popular Northern Beach suburb located halfway between Cairns and Palm Cove. A safe swimming beach with lifesavers on patrol 7 days a week. Dine with family and friends at the rennovated Trinity Beach Tavern for counter meals with spectacular ocean views. Innisfail & Cairns Southern Beaches

Flying Fish Point is only six kilometres from Innisfail and is situated at the mouth of the Johnstone River. Innisfail is in the heart of the Wet Tropics of Far North Queensland.

This area is also known and referred to in many Australian Travel Guides as the Cassowary Coast. The Cassowary, a majestic flightless bird, is one of the most beautiful and interesting native Australian animals and inhabits the rainforest area along the Cassowary Coast.

Innisfail (approximately five minutes from Flying Fish Point) is a major regional centre with all shopping facilities - supermarkets, restaurants, banks, hair, beauty, retail outlets.

Great Fishing

There is great fishing along the shore at Flying Fish Point and close by Mourilyan Harbour. If you have your own boat or choose to hire a fishing boat, the boat ramp is approximately 800 metres from Villa Waters Beach House. Fishing boat hire is available at Flying Fish Van Park. Innisfail is ideally geographically positioned as a great springboard into the famous Atherton Tablelands also known as Cairns Highlands. Just drive west up the Palmerston Highway through the pristine world heritage rain forest for about 45 minutes and burst into another world.

Tours to Dunk Island leave daily from Mission Beach. Activities include snorkeling, water skiing, jet skiing, sightseeing.

Interested in Volcanoes and a touch of Australian outback? This one is off the beaten track. Take a trip to Undara Volcanic National Park (about 2.5 hours west). Superb lava tubes.

For those seeking adventure, there’s White Water Rafting on the Tully River (medium) and Johnstone River (extreme!).
